Social & Emotional Support

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania is committed to supporting and empowering MG patients so that they can manage their MG as effectively as possible and enjoy the highest quality of life. This support is managed through a professional staff. The staff members address social and emotional needs as part of the treatment plan. As newly diagnosed patients transition into the world of chronic illness or a family member adjusts to a new level of care, the staff is there to compassionately educate and comfort people with MG and their support systems. Additionally, the staff manages a community resource list and a patient to patient support list. The skilled staff also takes on the responsibility of community education and outreach as MGA informs the general public and advocates for individuals with MG in the greater community. Do not hesitate to call MGA’s office if you need to speak with someone regarding social and/or emotional needs.
