About Our Organization

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA (MGA) was created in 1955 and throughout the years, has worked to improve the quality of life for those with myasthenia gravis.  Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder that can affect a variety of muscles in a person's body.  Even though there is not currently a cure for MG, most patients can live normal, productive, and happy lives with the help of medication or treatment methods.  Learn a little bit more about myasthenia gravis.

One of the main services MGA provides is our weekly treatment center.  At the center, patients have doctor visits with a neurologist and our nurse - both have a great deal of experience with myasthenia gravis.  With over 200 patients that regularly come for medical visits to our regional treatment center, MGA has established one of the largest-known MG centers in the world.  MGA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and provides a wide variety of services to patients free of charge. Here are some of our corporate friends and partners that help to make this all possible.
